Hunger to Health in COVID and Beyond: Food Policy as Health Policy was held on October 5th and 6th, 2020 hosted by The Hunger to Health Collaboratory (H2HC) and sponsored by Stop and Shop and Bloomberg Philanthropies. This year’s virtual convening celebrated the resilience and dedication of our communities and diverse leaders who are addressing the pandemic through the lens of systemic change. Echoed again and again throughout the convening, food insecurity and inadequate access to quality healthcare have long been serious issues, and the COVID-19 pandemic magnified these existing inequities.
This is our time to reimagine a world in which we prioritize health equity and food security and align with partners working towards a similar vision.
This is not a conversation that ends without action. As all of our panelists discussed, it is our shared responsibility to create systems that work for all of us– in times of abundance and scarcity. A part of H2HC’s mission to reduce the health consequences of hunger, convening and advocating for health equity and food security are core strategies that we carry forth during COVID and beyond. But there are other ways our partners, panelists, and audience can act, too.
